Review: One Way Boomer Retirees Stay Active: Extreme Sports

Retirement is what you make of it. Everyone has a different idea of what they want their retirement to look like. You might want to spend your time playing golf, start that company you’ve been thinking about, enjoy your family, or travel the world.

And some people like doing extreme sports. Now, you’re not likely to confuse what the article calls extreme sports for something out of the X Games, but the point still stands – retirement is different for everyone.

If you want to be able to have the retirement you are dreaming of, you need to prepare for it, so you have to plan for it.

You can’t just throw all of your money at your investment account and hope for the best. If you do, you’re short-changing yourself. Either you’re saving too much and not enjoying your life today, or – much more commonly – you’re not saving enough and won’t be able to have the retirement you want.

Saving without a financial plan is like driving somewhere you’ve never been before with no directions. You don’t know the path you should be following, and chances are you’ll end up somewhere other than you intended.
